Powertex Art Submission Guidelines

+ The Powertex Group welcomes the submission of digital art files for screen print and embroidery. Unfortunately, however, not all submitted digital art has been prepared in a fashion that permits files to be used—of these, some can be converted and amended; others cannot. At issue, primarily, are technical limitations (e.g., digital file format incompatibility with professional graphics software) and aesthetic considerations (e.g., insufficient image resolution for acceptable appearance for screen print). Also, for those files that, as supplied, may not meet criteria but can be converted, modifications may be laborious and costly.

+ These guidelines are intended to improve awareness of successful digital art file preparation methods and to convey optimal characteristics for submitted digital art files. As a consequence of observing recommended specifications, a greater opportunity to use original submitted digital art files can be expected. As well, the ability to render art in the screenprint or embroidery medium may satisfy more favorably the expectations of the author/creator.

+ Camera-Ready Artwork IS:

- Flat, sharp, black-and-white line art (graphics and text) on slick/glossy photographic material. Digital art on disk must be EPS, AI, PDF(vector based).
We can use Raster produced art if supplied at proper resolution; however, art charges may apply.

+ Camera-Ready Art Is Not:

- Fax copies, photocopies, newspaper art, unseparated art, business cards, letterhead, photography PMT, printed products, or laser art. If artwork does not meet required camera-ready specifications, an art preparation fee will be charged with a one-hour minimum. Sales Representative will notify customer if artwork touch-up requires more than one hour.

+ ELECTRIC ART SUBMISSION:

- E-MAIL: artwork may be submitted to art@powertexgroup.com.

+ DIGITALLY PRODUCED ART:

- Media Requirements: Files must be submitted on a disk in EPS, AI, or (vector based) PDF format. We can use raster file format; however, additional art charges apply. Always include a laser hard-copy print of the artwork. Include your e-mail address in case we need to contact you. CD ROMs and disks will be discarded after 90 days unless you have indicated on the purchase order that you would like the disk returned.

* Trademarks: All copy or other materials submitted by customers for our use in producing items ordered will be accepted as fully compliant with all applicable laws regarding trademark, service mark, copyright, right of privacy, patent, or similar protection.

+ MEDIA:

- Files must be submitted on a CD ROM, Zip 100 disk, formated MAC and saved as TIFF, EPS, AI or CDR. Logos should be of suitable resolution (300 dpi for CMYK files and 1200 dpi for line art is recommended) and submitted as TIFF, EPS, AI or CDR files. When sending digital artwork, please send a hard copy for our reference. This is especially important for e-mailed artwork, since images do not always retain their integrity when sent over the internet. The customer is responsible for the color contained in e-mailed artwork. Please specifiy PMS colors whenever possible.

- Acceptable professional graphic software programs include: Adobe Illustrator; Corel Draw and FreeHand are also acceptable if exported to an eps. Always outline your fonts and send any linked or placed graphics(all raster based guidelines apply). Other professional graphic programs that are supported include: Adobe Photoshop. Please do not send artwork on Presentation Publisher, Publisher, word processing, spreadsheet or database software programs.
